Tragically, gender discrimination and poverty make millions of young women the victims of violence every day. Education gives girls a chance to become economically self sufficient and equips them to fight oppression. This one change has the power to improve the lives of girls, their families and their communities.
Funding education for girls is considered one of the most effective factors in long-term change. But at KEEP we believe that is only half the need. It’s part of our core philosophy to create a personal connection with the girls we support, letting them know that people half a world away care about their success.
What We Do
Over the past three years, KEEP supporters helped fund annual programs for more than 160 girls in rural India. Today, that community has their first girls in college, with the first year of tuition provided by KEEP supporters. Today, we are working with an NGO in Kenya to provide tuition to girls in a boarding school.
